Dan Edmunds
Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Dan served 13 years in the British Army's Royal Signals Corps across multiple tours before stepping away from service to take on a different kind of challenge. Having seen first-hand where operational capability fell short, he moved into industry with a clear intent: to use engineering and innovation to solve the problems he had lived. That drive led him to found Espanaro, growing it from the ground up into an award-winning small business that brings genuine operational understanding to some of the hardest problems in defence and national security. Under his leadership the company has evolved from a specialist consultancy into a growing technology and services business with its own product ecosystem, built by people who know what is at stake.

John Collyer CB
Major General (Retired) · Strategic Adviser
Major General John Collyer CB retired from the British Army in June 2024 after a distinguished career spanning over three decades, culminating as the Army's Director Information and Chief Information Officer. Commissioned into the Royal Signals, John commanded at squadron and regimental level and subsequently led Joint Forces Cyber Group and 1st (UK) Signal Brigade. His operational experience spans the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
John holds a first-class degree in Information Systems Engineering and a Master's in Defence Studies from King's College London. He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours. At Espanaro, John provides strategic guidance at the intersection of defence capability requirements, information advantage, and sovereign technology.
